TYPES OF LEARNERS
To understand how to
move from passive to active learning, it is
important to
understand the different types of learners. There are four primary learning styles: visual, auditory,
read-write, and kinesthetic
Visual
learners: Prefer to use pictures, images, and spatial understanding.
Auditory
(Aural) learners: Use
sound and music.
Read
& write (Linguistic) learners: Rather the use of
written words
Kinesthetic
(physical) learners: Prefer hands on approaches & uses all
senses to engage in learning
People learn using a
variety of these methods, but one method is usually predominant
Blooms Taxanomy- Creating Objectives to suit each type of learner
In using Blooms Taxonomy for
Planning, it is wise to have a list of verbs that will aid in writing your objectives
from each domain. Which are Psychomotor, Affective, Cognitive
Example of my objective using Blooms taxonomy:
A-
Audience
B- Behavior
C-Condition D- Degree
At the end of the
lesson students will be able
to create a design suitable for
embroidery with the use of atleast three different stitches demonstrated in class.
Defining
the term “ASSURE”
A- Analyze
the audience.
S- State the
objectives including different strategies.
S- Select
related methods, media and materials.
U- Utilize
related media and materials.
R- Require
the learners participation.
E- Evaluate
and Revise.
This
can also be done using appriopriate learning materials such as
-videos -songs -poems -demo’s
-role plays etc
